DESCRIPTION:May 19 – 21, 2026 – Now Taking Registrations\n \nWhen registering for a class, please make sure you fill out the form in its entirety or it will not process.  Due to social distancing guidelines seating is limited, please register early to guarantee a spot in the class.\n\n\nThe 24-Hour course content is based upon regulatory guidance documents to include the NUREG 1556 Series.   This would satisfy training requirements for most non-medical Radiation Safety Officers to include:\n\nAcademic\nAnalytical and Industrial X-ray\nFixed and Portable Gauge\nIndustrial Radiography\nIrradiators\nResearch and Development\nTENORM\nWell Logging Supervisors\n\nThe lesson plan shall include:\n\nBasic radiation fundamentals\nALARA\nProper use of radiation and contamination survey instruments\nManagement and Development of a Radiation Safety Program\nX-ray device safety and regulatory requirements\nLicensing and Registration of sources and machines\nLicensed Material Security\nApplicable regulations as found in 10CFR Parts 19, 20 and 30\nSpecialized instruction as required from Parts 34, 36 and 39\nDOT requirements in accordance with 49CFR 172, Subpart H\nRadiation surveys and leak testing\nEmergency response\nPractical exercise that includes demonstrations with actual sources and devices\n\nA Certificate of Completion will be provided upon completion of the final exam describing the appropriate regulatory reference(s).\n \n\n \n
